Amman, Feb 3 (Petra) - The Jordan Dental Association is preparing a comprehensive file on fake pages and misleading medical advertisements promoting illegal treatments or discounts that violate the approved fee schedule, in coordination with the Cybercrime Unit and the Media Commission, due to the direct harm such advertisements cause to citizens.

Association President Aya Al-Asmar said at a press conference held at the association’s headquarters on Tuesday, attended by members of the council and its committees, that the association has referred 25 cases related to impersonating dentists to the competent judicial authorities.

She said the cases included practitioners without professional practice permits, among them dentists of various nationalities and internship students, in addition to individuals with no connection to the dental profession who provide treatment, conduct examinations, and set treatment plans without any legal basis.

Al-Asmar outlined the main achievements in the areas of professional regulation and digital transformation during the first seven months of the current council’s term, stressing that the association has moved into the practical implementation phase in partnership with relevant institutions to protect the profession and public safety.

She said the association will launch a QR code for every dentist and every clinic starting in early March, allowing citizens to verify a dentist’s license, membership in the association, and the validity of the facility and its staff. She stressed that any facility without the code will be considered in violation, and the association will not be responsible for complaints filed against it.

She added that the association will establish direct electronic linkage with the Ministry of Health and the Greater Amman Municipality to regulate the licensing of clinics and dental centers and verify compliance with professional, construction, and operational licenses, enhancing public safety and preventing manipulation.
