Jordan’s Local Revenues Rise 1.6% in Q1 2026-Finance Ministry

Amman, May 20 (Petra) -- Jordan’s local revenues increased by JD34.1 million, or 1.6 percent, by the end of March 2026, reaching JD2.194 billion compared with JD2.160 billion during the same period last year, despite regional challenges.

According to the Ministry of Finance, the rise was mainly driven by a rise in non-tax revenues, which grew by JD53.5 million during the first quarter of 2026 to JD631.8 million, compared with JD578.4 million in the same period of 2025.

The ministry said grants received by the Kingdom during the first quarter reached approximately JD20.4 million, compared with JD3.4 million during the corresponding period last year.

Accordingly, total public revenues, including grants, rose to around JD2.215 billion, compared with JD2.164 billion in the first quarter of 2025.

Government spending totaled JD2.937 billion by the end of March 2026, including JD2.722 billion in current expenditures and JD215.2 million in capital expenditures.

Meanwhile, capital spending surged by JD50.8 million, or 30.9 percent, compared with the same period in 2025, reflecting continued spending on capital projects, aimed at boosting economic activity and improving public services.
