PFA commends Jordan's support for Palestinian sports

Amman, August 6 (Petra) – Palestine Football Association (PFA) commended the initiative of the Jordanian Football Association (JFA), headed by His Royal Highness Prince Ali bin Al Hussein, to allow registration of 1 Palestinian player as a local professional in each football club in the Jordanian Pro League competitions.

The PFA said the decision was "widely" welcomed by the Palestinian football community.

Earlier in the week, the JFA had announced it would allow professional league clubs to sign a Palestinian player under specific conditions.

This move aims to support Palestinian football and provide Palestinian players with broader opportunities to pursue their professional careers.

In a statement issued today, Thursday, the Palsetinian association expressed its "deep" appreciation for the support of His Royal Highness Prince Ali bin Al Hussein for Palestinian sports.

The association said this initiative continues Jordan's "supportive" stance towards Palestine and a manifestation of the "deep-rooted" brotherly relations between the Jordanian and Palestinian peoples.

The statement said the PFA President, Lit. Gen. Jibril Rajoub, and all members of the Palestinian football family, extend their "sincere" thanks and appreciation to His Highness Prince Ali bin Al Hussein, JFA President and its Board of Directors, for the brotherly decision.

The Palsetinian association also noted the move reflects the "depth of the historic" relations between the two peoples and reflects His Highness Prince Ali's keenness to support Palestinian sports and provide opportunities for Palestinian players.

On its goals, it stated this process would unlock the players' abilities and develop their professional careers, mainly amid exceptional circumstances facing Palestinian sports and the challenges that have affected its infrastructure.

The association added that the initiative represents a "practical" message of solidarity, aimed to maintain continuity of the Palestinian player's journey to continue their presence and development at both the technical and professional levels.

Concluding its statement, the PFA underlined its pride in this initiative, which reflects the continued Jordanian support for Palestine in various fields and strengthens sports cooperation between the two federations.

The PFA stated this effort would develop football in both brotherly countries, affirming the sports role as a bridge of solidarity and integration between the Jordanian and Palestinian peoples.
