Occupied Jerusalem, Sept. 21 (Petra) – A total of 458 extremist Jewish settlers stormed the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque/Al-Haram Al-Sharif in occupied Jerusalem on Monday morning through the Magharebah Gate under heavy protection from Israeli occupation police.

On Sunday, hundreds of extremist settlers, led by Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque under heavy police protection. Ben-Gvir performed Talmudic rituals in the eastern part of Al-Haram Al-Sharif.

The Jerusalem Governorate said in a statement that Israeli occupation forces were imposing extensive media restrictions on coverage of events inside the Al-Aqsa compound on the second day of the Jewish "Yom Kippur" holiday, particularly regarding the activities of rabbis and officials entering the mosque.

The governorate added that Israeli authorities had restricted transportation and business activity in Jerusalem, imposed widespread closures on institutions and shops, and placed restrictions on movement, citing the Jewish holiday.
