Meanwhile, prices for crops representing 68.8% of relative importance decreased, most notably potatoes, colored bell peppers, and eggplants.
The decline in the producer price index for November 2025 compared to November 2024 was mainly due to decreases in crops representing 39.7% of relative importance, such as potatoes, green corn, and zucchini. Conversely, prices rose for crops representing 60.3% of relative importance, including lemons, papayas, and olives.
Comparing November 2025 with the previous month, prices for crops representing 85.4% of relative importance fell, notably tomatoes, zucchini, and broccoli, while prices rose for crops representing 14.6%, including dates, strawberries, and eggplants.
The Department of Statistics has revised its methodology for collecting agricultural price data through a specialized technical committee from the Department and the Ministry of Agriculture, following recommendations from the Permanent Expert Committee on Agricultural Statistics under the National Agricultural Strategy.
To improve data quality, the monthly agricultural prices of all crops from central markets are now used, with 2016 as the base year (2016=100) and the Laspeyres formula applied to calculate the index.
