Amman, October 7 (Petra) – Ministry of Agriculture has decided to open olive presses nationwide and commence olive pressing operations for the current season, effective the 15 of this month.

In a statement to "Petra" Wednesday, the ministry said it has instructed agricultural directors countrywide to monitor olive presses within their jurisdictions and verify compliance with the scheduled start date.

The ministry also noted that pressing operations must not begin prior to the specified date, warning that violators would face legal liability.

On its rationale, this decision was made, in anticipation of the upcoming olive pressing season.

The move also aligns with Article (10) of the Instructions for Licensing the Establishment and Operation of Olive Presses No. (Z/11) of 2024.
