Amman, Oct 3 (Petra) – Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission (CARC) Chief Commissioner Daifallah Al-Farajat said on Saturday that Jordanian airspace is completely safe with air traffic and flights arriving at and departing airports normally.
Commenting on a recent advisory by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), Al-Farajat said the advisory bulletin is a recommendation that allows European carriers the discretion to assess the situation and make operational decisions based on their own internal risk assessments, whereas non-European airlines have remained entirely unaffected.
Continued air traffic stability in Jordan reflects the international aviation sector's confidence in the Kingdom's airspace and airports, he said, adding that European airlines, such as Wizz Air and TAROM, continued to operate flights regularly and without interruption.
Furthermore, other European carriers have submitted official requests to resume and operate flights next month, including British Airways, Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines, and Eurowings Cargo, as well as the Croatian ETF Airways, which plans to operate charter tourist flights, he said.
Meanwhile, the number of airlines currently operating scheduled flights to Jordanian airports has surpassed 32 regional and international carriers, said Captain Al-Farajat.
He emphasized that CARCA monitors and assesses the aviation and security situation around the clock, in full coordination with relevant local and international entities.
He reiterated that passenger safety and securing Jordanian airspace are top national priorities, and reassured travelers and airlines of the stability and sustainability of the Kingdom’s civil aviation system.
