Amman, Jan. 6 (Petra) -- The Electronic Health Solutions Company (EHS), a non-profit company that aims to improve the healthcare system in Jordan, said 2025 marked a pivotal milestone in its trajectory, as it continued to consolidate its role as a national driver of digital transformation in the Kingdom’s healthcare sector, in line with the Economic Modernization Vision 2023–2033.
The EHS Chief Executive Officer Omar Ayesh said Tuesday that the company’s achievements during the last year reflected a practical commitment to advancing healthcare services, enhancing patient experience, and improving the efficiency of health resource and data management nationwide.
Ayesh said the Hakeem digital health transformation program continued to expand, covering 447 facilities affiliated with the Ministry of Health and the Royal Medical Services across all governorates. These facilities include hospitals as well as comprehensive, primary, and specialized healthcare centers, contributing to improved service quality and operational efficiency.
As part of strengthening the sector’s digital infrastructure, Ayesh said the company launched the Paxera Ultima artificial intelligence-based radiology image management system, which supports image processing, diagnostic assistance, and medical report generation. He added that the Hakeem system at the Royal Medical Services had been upgraded to its latest version, alongside the activation of the Hakeem Exchange service between the Ministry of Health and the Jordanian Royal Medical Services, thereby enhancing system integration and data interoperability.
He said the outcomes achieved during 2025 underscore a clear national trajectory toward a smart and integrated digital healthcare ecosystem, adding that the company remains focused on advancing comprehensive digital solutions with a sustainable impact on the national health system.
Ayesh said the next phase will witness a qualitative expansion in digital services aimed at raising healthcare efficiency and improving service delivery outcomes.
He said the company contributed to the implementation of the Virtual Hospital project, also known as the Jordanian Digital Health Center, which provides telemedicine services and improves medication management through direct integration with the Hakeem system, expanding access to care, particularly in densely populated areas.
Ayesh noted the launch of electronic payment services in several comprehensive health centers, in cooperation with the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, covering laboratory, radiology, pharmacy, and medical record services. The initiative has helped streamline procedures, accelerate service provision, and enhance transparency.
He added that the Hakeem financial accounting system has been rolled out in more than 110 Ministry of Health facilities, including government hospitals, enabling patients to access invoices and receipts through the Hakeem application and strengthening financial governance in the health sector.
The company also continued to expand the Hakeem application, which now exceeds 800,000 users. Available services include follow-up appointment scheduling, home delivery of monthly medications, access to electronic medical records, and the electronic issuance of health certificates.
Ayesh said the EHS also launched the Shahm virtual assistant service, which operates around the clock to respond to inquiries from the Ministry of Health and the Jordanian Royal Medical Services patients, contributing to improved user experience and communication.
He added that the National Health Information Registry platform was launched, alongside specialized national projects covering diabetes, dialysis, newborn screening, and chronic disease indicators in primary healthcare, providing a unified database to support evidence-based health policymaking.
Among the initiatives implemented was a hospital bed monitoring project within the virtual hospital system, aimed at improving healthcare resource management, tracking bed availability, and identifying causes of occupancy pressures. The project has been activated in several government hospitals across multiple governorates.
The EHS works with key healthcare and technology stakeholders, including the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, the Jordanian Royal Medical Services, the King Hussein Cancer Foundation, the Royal Health Awareness Society, the Private Hospitals Association, and the King Abdullah II Fund for Development, and exclusively oversees four national programs, Hakeem, the Electronic Library of Medicine–Jordan, Hakeem Academy, and the Health Data Analytics program, aimed at enhancing the quality and efficiency of public healthcare services.
