Amman, October 28 (Petra) Minister of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs Ayman Safadi received Qatar's Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, on Tuesday.
Safadi and Al Thani discussed the strategic ties between Jordan and Qatar, highlighting the continued progress in cooperation across various fields.
The two ministers discussed efforts to de-escalate tensions in the region and establish lasting security and stability based on respect for state sovereignty, international law, good-neighborliness and freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.
Safadi commended Qatar's key role in these efforts.
They also addressed the deterioration of conditions in the occupied West Bank, stressing the need for Israel to halt its illegal measures, which fuel the conflict and undermine prospects for implementing the two-state solution as the only path toward achieving a just and lasting peace.
The ministers called for the implementation of all provisions of US President Donald Trump's plan to realise stability in Gaza and remove all obstacles preventing the adequate and sustained delivery of humanitarian aid to the Strip.
Al Thani renewed his condolences over the victims of the terrorist attack targeting a church in Karak Governorate and wished the injured a speedy recovery.
