Jordanian Nurses Set to Explore Opportunities in Italy

Amman, Jan. 7 (Petra) -- Jordan is taking steps to open new employment opportunities for its nurses in Italy, following high-level discussions between the two countries.
Secretary-General of the Ministry of Labor, Dr. Abdul Halim Doujan, met on Wednesday with Dr. Marco Farci, Advisor to the President of Italy’s Lombardy Region, at the Ministry’s headquarters to explore potential collaboration and pave the way for Jordanian nurses to work in Italy’s private healthcare sector.
During the meeting, attended by Dr. Abdullah Haimour, member of the Jordanian Nurses Council, Doujan emphasized the Ministry’s commitment to promoting Jordanian expertise in both regional and international markets. He described the talks as a key step in facilitating the integration of Jordanian nurses into Italy’s healthcare system, noting that the technical and regulatory details would be discussed among the Italian side, the Nurses’ Council, and other relevant stakeholders under the supervision of the Ministry of Labor.
Dr. Farci affirmed Italy’s interest in recruiting Jordanian nurses, highlighting the country’s demand for skilled healthcare professionals and the openness to deepen bilateral cooperation in this sector.
Meanwhile, Haimour stated that the Nurses Council fully supports efforts to help Jordanian nurses find employment in Italy, noting that approximately 2,000 nurses from the Council’s general membership are actively seeking overseas opportunities.
