Amman, Nov. 26 (Petra) Jordan’s Prime Ministry concluded on Wednesday a series of workshops on the Second Executive Program of the Public Sector Modernisation Roadmap for 2026–2029, held over the past three days with participation from public and private sector experts.
Minister of State for Public Sector Development Badria Al Balbisi said the program marks a practical shift from establishing frameworks to implementing reforms and measuring tangible impacts on government performance and service quality. She highlighted that the workshops focused on harmonizing priorities, enhancing coordination among agencies, and accelerating implementation to directly benefit citizens.
Key discussions addressed government services and procedures, emerging data and technologies, governance and regulatory environment, human resources and leadership, and institutional culture considered critical for improving efficiency, simplifying processes, and expanding digital solutions in planning and decision-making.
Al Balbisi emphasized the program’s reliance on clear performance indicators, linking budgets to priorities, enhancing accountability, and ensuring sustainable results. She also stressed the importance of a participatory approach to follow up on workshop outcomes to achieve measurable results and strengthen public trust.
The workshops, chaired by Omar Al-Fanek, Director of the Economic Reform Support Unit at the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation, and Hanadi Al-Nabulsi, Director General of the Government Procurement Department, included presentations on the roadmap’s priorities, project and initiative proposals, and institutional coordination mechanisms.
Over three days, participants reviewed the seven components of the Public Sector Modernisation Roadmap: government services and procedures, data and emerging technologies, governance and regulatory environment, human resources and leadership, institutional culture, policies and legislation, and expenditure efficiency. The roadmap, launched in 2022, spans 10 years and aims to create an effective and empowered public sector.
