Final planning conference for Eager Lion 2026 military exercise opens In Amman

Amman, Jan 11 (Petra) - Activities of the final planning conference for the Eager Lion 2026 exercise opened on Sunday at the Hilton Hotel in Amman, with the participation of a number of officers from the Jordan Armed Forces (JAF) and officers from brotherly and friendly countries taking part in the exercise.
In his remarks, the head of the Joint Training Branch at the Military Training Directorate commended the active participation in the conference’s proceedings, noting that it constitutes a key milestone in the preparation path for the Eager Lion 2026 exercise.
He said all planning, organizational and operational details are in the process of being finalized to ensure the exercise’s objectives are achieved in line with the highest standards of professionalism and readiness.
For his part, Commander of the U.S. Army's Task Force Spartan Major General Jack A. James said in his remarks, "The objective of the Eager Lion exercise is to raise the level of our capabilities and demonstrate them," stressing that detailed planning and continuous training contribute to reducing risks and enhancing readiness, as well as the importance of joint coordination and teamwork to ensure the success of the exercise.
The five-day conference aims to discuss all activities, plans, preparations and operational and logistical requirements necessary to implement the exercise, in addition to reviewing its scenarios in a manner consistent with strategic changes in the operational environment and meeting the defensive requirements of the participating countries.
The Eager Lion 2026 exercise will be conducted in Jordan from May 3 to 14, with wide participation from brotherly and friendly countries, reflecting the Kingdom’s status as a key platform for international military cooperation in the region.
