Amman, Oct. 6 (Petra) -- Unsettled weather will bring scattered rain and possible thunderstorms to southern and eastern regions on Tuesday, while gusty winds raise dust across the Badia and cooler conditions settle over much of the country, according to the Jordan Meteorological Department.
A weak spell of atmospheric instability will leave skies partly cloudy to cloudy at times, with scattered showers developing across parts of the south and east. The chance of light rain will remain limited across northern and central areas during the early morning.
Westerly winds will pick up at intervals, stirring dust across desert areas and occasionally reducing visibility.
The department warned motorists of slippery roads in areas receiving rain, as well as reduced visibility from dust in the Badia. Early-morning fog could also limit visibility over the high northern mountain areas.
Daytime temperatures will reach 24 degrees Celsius in East Amman and 22 C in West Amman, dropping to 21 C in the northern highlands and 20 C in the Sharah highlands. Highs will reach 25 C across the plains and 28 C in the Badia.
Warmer conditions will persist in low-lying areas, with temperatures reaching 32 C in the northern Jordan Valley and at the Dead Sea and 33 C in the southern Jordan Valley and Aqaba.
Tuesday night will turn relatively cool across most regions, while mild conditions prevail in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba.
Temperatures will rise slightly on Wednesday, returning to seasonal averages and bringing moderate weather to most regions.
Another slight increase is expected on Thursday, with similar conditions continuing into Friday. The Badia will become relatively hot, while hot weather returns to the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba.
