Amman, Mar. 19 (Petra)-- Saleh Al-Khawaldah - The Chargé d’Affaires of the United Arab Emirates Embassy in Jordan, Counselor Hamad Al Matrooshi, said that King Abdullah II’s recent visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and his meeting with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan carry exceptional importance amid the region’s current sensitive and volatile conditions.
He told the Jordan News Agency (Petra) that the visit reflects the strong level of cooperation and coordination between the leaderships of both countries across various sectors.
He emphasized their joint commitment to advancing shared development priorities, safeguarding mutual interests, and delivering benefits to both nations and their peoples.
He added that discussions between the two sides addressed the latest regional developments, particularly in light of ongoing military escalation and its implications for regional security and stability. Both leaders reaffirmed their rejection of any attacks that violate state sovereignty or contravene international laws and norms, stressing that such actions pose a direct threat to international peace and security.
Al Matrooshi further stated that what he described as "treacherous Iranian attacks" targeting the UAE, Jordan, and several other friendly nations represent a flagrant violation of sovereignty and international law, and a serious threat to regional security.
He pointed to the adoption of UN Security Council Resolution 2817, which strongly condemns the missile and drone attacks launched by Iran against the UAE, Gulf Cooperation Council countries, and Jordan, and calls for their immediate cessation.
He concluded by affirming that the deep-rooted fraternal ties between the UAE and Jordan will remain a solid model of cooperation, adding that both countries will continue working together to confront challenges, defend shared causes, and consolidate the foundations of security and stability in the region.
