Zarqa Chamber of Industry's new board holds first meeting, elects Hammoudeh chairman

Zarqa, Oct. 3 (Petra) -- The newly elected board of directors of the Zarqa Chamber of Industry, elected by acclamation, held its first meeting Saturday, chaired by Fares Hammoudeh, who was unanimously elected chamber chairman. The board approved its work plan for the coming phase, aimed at enhancing the industrial sector's competitiveness and developing services and programs provided to industrial facilities.
During the meeting, Hammoudeh stressed that the coming phase will complete the previous board's efforts and build on achievements that supported the industrial sector in Zarqa and Mafraq governorates and enhanced its ability to grow and compete.
The board discussed its future work plan, which is based on an integrated strategy including policies, objectives, and executive programs consistent with the Economic Modernization Vision's targets, along with developing the system of services provided to the industrial sector, enhancing its competitiveness, and supporting its growth and sustainability within the chamber's area of jurisdiction.
The board elected Hussein Hawatmeh as vice chairman and representative of the Zarqa Chamber of Industry at the Jordan Chamber of Industry (JCI), Dina Jack Khayyat as second vice chairman, Wissam Sidr as treasurer, Ghassan Al-Kilani as assistant treasurer, Ali Hassan as secretary, and Ayman Al-Masri as assistant secretary.
The board also named Amjad Al-Basha as assistant to the board chairman for Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) affairs, while Amer Al-Dmour is a board member.
In previous years, the chamber's board of directors implemented a work strategy characterized by flexibility and a focus on supporting the industrial sector, which, according to chamber data, contributed to raising the value of industrial exports to more than $1.5 billion, along with completing the expansion of the chamber's building and supporting the implementation of a number of infrastructure projects related to the industrial sector, contributing to improving the investment environment and enhancing the foundations of industrial activity in the region.
