Amman, October 28 (Petra) Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Maj. Gen. Majdi Al Harasis visited the pavilions participating in the Special Operations Forces Exhibition and Conference (SOFEX 2026) on Wednesday, the second day of the event, held at the Aqaba International Exhibition and Convention Centre.

Accompanied by senior officers from the Jordanian Armed Forces, Al Harasis reviewed the latest defence technologies and equipment related to security and special operations.

He received briefings from company representatives on key defence innovations, smart and unmanned systems and advanced technological solutions.

Al Harasis highlighted the importance of SOFEX 2026 as a platform for showcasing advanced defense technologies and exchanging expertise.

He noted that engagement with participating companies and delegations helps strengthen the Armed Forces' capabilities, modernise their defence and security systems and enhance their readiness to address various challenges.

The chairman met with heads and members of military and security delegations from several countries. Discussions focused on strengthening cooperation in the military and defence fields and exchanging expertise to serve mutual interests.

The 15th edition of SOFEX coincides with the 30th anniversary of the exhibition's launch in 1996.

The event serves as an international platform bringing together armed forces, security agencies and companies specialising in defence and security, providing opportunities to exchange expertise and explore the latest technologies and solutions in the sector.
