Amman, Oct 26 (Petra) – A delegation of the Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission (CARC) led by Daifallah Al-Farajat met on Monday with a Libyan Civil Aviation Authority team, headed by Mohamed Shlibek, to discuss closer cooperation in the air transport field and update a bilateral air services agreement.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 8th meeting of Directors General of Civil Aviation in the Middle East, held in Doha, Qatar.
The two sides signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU), adding the Misrata–Amman route (in both directions) to the schedule of air routes. It also authorizes air carriers designated by both sides to operate seven scheduled weekly flights for passengers, cargo, and mail on this route, in accordance with the "third and fourth freedoms" of the air.
The two sides stressed a joint commitment to ongoing coordination to foster cooperation in the civil aviation and air transport sectors.
The talks underscored the deep-rooted relations between the two countries and addressed the need to review the air services agreement in line with recent developments in the air transport industry.
