London, Sept 28 (Petra) - British Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband criticized Israel’s violations in Gaza and the occupied West Bank on Monday, calling them "a stain on the conscience of the world" during a speech at the Labour Party Conference in Liverpool.

Addressing party members, Miliband voiced the UK’s commitment to a two-state solution and vowed to block any attempts to undermine it.

"When it comes to the attempt to destroy the two-state solution, this party, this movement, this government said we will not let you succeed," he added.

Miliband slammed Israeli policies across the occupied Palestinian territories, citing violence by extremist settlers in the occupied West Bank and operations in Gaza.

"We call out ethnic cleansing by the settler terrorists in the West Bank. We call out the evidence of war crimes in Gaza. We call out Israel’s illegal occupation of Palestine," he stated.

Addressing pro-Palestinian demonstrators and advocates, Miliband stated, "I want to say to the millions of people in this country, and indeed elsewhere, who have been moved and outraged by the plight of the Palestinian people: We hear you. You were right." //Petra// HA
