Aqaba, Sept. 10 (Petra) -- A new dedicated play area for pediatric patients opened on Thursday in the children's ward at Prince Hashem bin Abdullah II Military Hospital in Aqaba governorate.

The Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) funded the project, and the Zaha Cultural Center executed it.

Brigadier General Mohammad Al-Adwan, Assistant Director-General of the Royal Medical Services for Medical Affairs and Regions, ASEZA Vice Vice Chairman Karima Al-Dhabet, ASEZA Commissioner for Environment and Public Safety Nidal Al-Ouran, and Zaha Cultural Center Executive Director Rania Sbeih attended the inauguration.

The facility aims to provide a safe, comforting environment for hospitalized children, enhancing their psychological well-being and reducing stress during medical treatment.

Hospital Director Brigadier General Iyad Al-Safadi said the play area was equipped to the highest standards to deliver recreational activities tailored to children's psychological and social needs.

Al-Dhabet affirmed that ASEZA's support falls within its corporate social responsibility framework to enhance quality of life in Aqaba, underscoring the role of cross-institutional partnerships in driving community impact.

Zaha Cultural Center Executive Director Sbeih noted that the initiative aligns with the center's mission to establish child-centered spaces across various public and military healthcare institutions.

Al-Adwan commended the involved parties, emphasizing the importance of integrated healthcare environments that address both medical and psychological needs.
