AMMAN, Sept. 12 (Petra) – The Industrial Property Protection Directorate at the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Supply has registered 83 patents between the beginning of the year and the end of August, including two domestic filings.
According to official data released by the directorate, 4,875 trademarks were registered during the eight-month period, alongside the formal renewal of 3,760 existing trademark portfolios.

Under prevailing intellectual property statutes, a patent represents any innovative technical concept devised by an inventor relating to a product, a manufacturing process, or both, designed to resolve specific technical challenges.
The patent registration lifecycle encompasses initial inventor guidance and filing procedures, culminating in the issuance of final letters patent. The administrative workflow includes rigorous technical and formal examination phases to verify compliance with statutory prerequisites, alongside third-party public disclosures such as Official Gazette publications and public register inspections.
Trademarks are defined as any visible sign utilized–or intended for use–by commercial entities to distinguish their goods, products, or services from those of competitors.
