Amman, Sept. 20 (Petra) - The Amman Chamber of Commerce (ACC) met on Sunday with British Ambassador to Jordan Philip Hall to translate His Majesty King Abdullah II's July London visit into economic initiatives.

Both parties agreed to leverage the royal visit’s business forum to boost trade, attract investment, and build commercial partnerships.

Officials explored joint ventures across priority sectors, including digital technology, water, transportation, healthcare, tourism, logistics, and value-added manufacturing.

ACC Chair Khalil Tawfiq called for identifying target companies, following up with UK firms that expressed interest in Jordan, and expanding the reach of Jordanian goods and services in the British market.

He voiced the chamber's readiness to partner with the British Embassy's commercial section to connect Jordanian and UK companies, share market intelligence, and open direct trade channels.

He called for activating the memorandum of understanding between the ACC and the West London Chambers of Commerce through trade delegations and business match-making sessions.

The ambassador, for his part, stated the UK's commitment to deepening economic relations and bolstering ties.

He encouraged Jordanian officials to engage with British firms in the region, positioning Jordan as a "stable hub" for regional expansion while launching joint efforts to boost two-way tourism.

During the first half of 2026, Jordanian exports to the UK reached approximately JD36 million, while imports from the UK stood at JD121 million.
