Non-Jordanian real estate ownership up in 1st 8 months

Amman, Sept 12 (Petra) – The number of real estate ownership transactions by non-Jordanian investors in the Kingdom rose in the first eight months of 2026, with Iraqi nationals topping the property owners list, according to data released on Saturday by the Department of Lands and Survey.
Non-Jordanian investors made 1,515 real estate ownership transactions in the first eight months of the year, including 953 apartments, marking a 7 percent increase from the previous year, the figures showed.
The estimated value of these reached approximately JD147.11 million, a 1 percent increase from the same period last year, including JD64.76 million for apartments and JD82.35 million for land, it said.
Iraqis led non-Jordanian property owners, with 373 properties, followed by Saudis, 195, Syrians, 181, Palestinians, 141, and Americans 121, according to the figures.
In August alone, non-Jordanian ownership transactions totaled 257 properties, an increase of 31 percent from the same month in 2025, and 18 percent, compared to the preceding month of July.
The August transactions included 167 apartments as well as 90 land plots, marking a 13 percent increase, compared to August of the previous year and a slight decrease of less than 1 percent from the previous month, according to the department.
