Aqaba, Sept. 23 (Petra) -- The Aqaba Entrepreneurial Network (AEN) held its regular meeting at the Queen Rania Al Abdullah Community Empowerment Center (QRCEC) in Aqaba.

Run by the Jordan River Foundation, the discussions brought together representatives of public, private and civil society institutions to discuss coordinating entrepreneurship initiatives in the governorate.

Rima Tabbaa, director of entrepreneurship and innovation at Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA), said the network serves as a "platform" to coordinate efforts among entrepreneurship institutions, exchange expertise and programs, and direct initiatives toward the needs of youth and entrepreneurs, supporting the development and sustainability of startup projects.

Participants reviewed the main projects and programs planned for 2026, discussing cooperation mechanisms among network members to integrate initiatives and expand the base of beneficiaries.

In turn, Ahmad Ghnaimat, director of QRCEC, presented the foundation's current and future programs and projects in Aqaba and cooperation opportunities with network members to support services for youth and holders of entrepreneurial ideas and projects.

The ASEZA leads the AEN, which includes 35 member institutions, aims to support innovation and entrepreneurship, drive economic growth and build a sustainable entrepreneurial system in the governorate.

The AEN was established under the "Entrepreneurship for Sustainable Economic Development and Employment" project, implemented by the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) with joint funding from the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development and the European Union, in partnership with TTi.
