Amman, Sept. 27 (Petra) - The Jordan Enterprise Development Corporation (JEDCO) completed a study tour in Oman on Sunday to learn from the country's digital transformation and SME support strategies in tourism and hospitality.
During the visit, the JEDCO team met with Omani stakeholders, including the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, OMRAN Group, Visit Oman, the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (Riyada), and the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism.
Talks centered on digital platforms, tools, and services designed to help small businesses leverage technology to expand their market reach.
The delegation conducted field visits to study real-world cases of local entrepreneurs, including eco-lodges, heritage crafts, and honey production ventures. These visits provided direct insights into how small businesses adopt digital tools while managing operational challenges.
JEDCO stated that the experience will help boost its institutional capacity to develop targeted, tech-driven support programs that boost the competitiveness and growth of Jordanian SMEs in the digital economy.
The visit falls under a joint effort to build digital support programs for tourism SMEs in Amman and Muscat.
The initiative was implemented in collaboration with the Youth Projects Development Fund (Sharaka) and funded by the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation of the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation.
