Amman, Sept. 21 (Petra) - Australian Ambassador to Jordan Paula Ganly met separately on Monday with Palestine Committee Head Mazen Darwazah and Senator Abla Amawi to examine economic cooperation and discuss regional developments.

During his meeting, Darwazah called for a two-state solution on 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as the Palestinian capital, pointing to His Majesty King Abdullah II’s efforts in championing peace, protecting holy sites, and delivering aid to Gaza.

He also explored widening cooperation in education, technology, and Australian investment in Jordan.

In her meeting with the envoy, Amawi hailed Australia’s Gaza aid efforts and urged an end to spiking violence in Gaza and the occupied West Bank.

She pointed out that parliamentary diplomacy plays a key role in deepening relations.

Ganly lauded Jordan’s regional leadership under King Abdullah II and voiced Canberra’s support for a two-state solution and continuous Gaza aid.

The ambassador noted that Australia sees "promising" investment and cooperation opportunities in Jordan's agriculture, water, environment, mining, and railway transport sectors.
