Amman, Sept. 21 (Petra) - Lower House Speaker Mazen Qadi met with Algerian Ambassador to Jordan Mohamed Zergot on Monday to discuss prospects of expanding parliamentary cooperation.

Qadi called for forging deeper economic ties, engaging the private sector, and activating the joint Jordanian-Algerian Committee.

Zergot, for his part, noted that bilateral ties rest on a "solid foundation" of shared views, voicing Algeria's commitment to boosting economic and parliamentary ties.

The two sides agreed on closer coordination on regional affairs, particularly the Palestinian cause, reiterating their support for the Palestinian people's right to statehood.
