Amman, Sept. 23 (Petra) - Lower House Speaker Mazen Qadi and British Ambassador to Jordan Philip Hall canvased on Wednesday boosting parliamentary cooperation.
Qadi pointed to Jordan and the UK's strong ties, noting that ongoing cooperation yields mutual benefits across multiple sectors.
He outlined Jordan's political, economic, and administrative modernization drives, launched under His Majesty King Abdullah II's direction to expand popular participation in decision-making.
Qadi lauded the King’s UN General Assembly address, noting it presented a strategic vision that called on the international community to fulfill its legal and moral duties.
The address offered a comprehensive peace roadmap calling for a two-state solution, an end to the occupation, and an independent Palestinian state, he noted.
He also commended the UK’s support for a two-nation solution and its decision to impose sanctions on Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank.
Hall, for his part, praised King Abdullah II’s leadership in promoting regional security and stability.
He stated the UK's desire to broaden ties with Jordan while praising Jordan's ongoing modernization initiatives.
Voicing the UK's backing of a two-state solution and Palestinian statehood, Hall discussed the "vital" role of Hashemite Custodianship over Jerusalem’s holy sites.
