Amman, Sep. 30 (Petra) -- Rain chances will spread across several parts of the country on Wednesday as a weak spell of atmospheric instability develops, bringing scattered showers to the north and parts of the central region before extending southeast during the evening.

The Jordan Meteorological Department said pleasant weather will prevail across most regions, with clouds building at varying altitudes throughout the day. The Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba will remain relatively hot.

Scattered light showers are possible across northern areas and limited parts of the central region from around midday. By evening, rain chances will shift toward limited areas in the southeast, where showers could occasionally be accompanied by thunder.

Moderate northwesterly winds will become active at times.

Wednesday's temperatures are forecast to reach 26 degrees Celsius in East Amman and 24 C in West Amman, while highs will fall to 22 C in the northern highlands and reach 24 C in the Sharah highlands.

Temperatures will reach 27 C across the plains and 29 C in the Badia, compared with 34 C in the northern Jordan Valley and Aqaba and 35 C in the southern Jordan Valley and at the Dead Sea.

A slight decline in temperatures is expected on Thursday, with pleasant conditions continuing across most regions. Clouds will remain at varying altitudes, while light showers are possible in northern areas.

Unsettled conditions are forecast to return around midday Friday, when another weak spell of atmospheric instability could bring scattered light showers to southern regions.

Temperatures will edge higher on Saturday, while pleasant weather continues across most of the country and relatively hot conditions persist in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba.
