15 Digital Economy, Cybersecurity and Communications Achievements Recorded in August

Amman, Sept. 18 (Petra)-- A report on the achievements of ministries and government institutions for August, issued by the Ministry of Government Communication, highlighted 15 accomplishments in the fields of the digital economy, cybersecurity, telecommunications and postal services.

According to the report, the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship inaugurated the Government Services Center in Ajloun to simplify procedures and reduce the time and effort required to access government services.

The ministry also inaugurated the "North Platform" technology center in Irbid Governorate as part of the government’s development projects in the governorate. The platform is aligned with the Economic Modernisation Vision’s objectives of developing the digital economy, building qualified human capital, enhancing the Kingdom’s competitiveness, and consolidating Jordan’s position as a regional hub for technology and innovation.

The "Sanad" application recorded more than a quarter of a million inquiries about the results of the General Secondary Education Certificate Examination (Tawjihi), marking the first time the results were made available through Sanad channels. A total of 252,376 users checked their results during the first half-hour after their official announcement.

Sanad was also selected among the world’s top 15 projects in the Digital Government category from 1,500 entries representing 146 countries.

The report also highlighted key achievements by the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (TRC), including the continuation of sessions under the second cycle of the "Employment and Entrepreneurship in the Postal Sector" initiative for 2026. One session was held at Yarmouk University and another at Al Hussein Technical University.

The TRC also developed its fixed frequency monitoring system by installing four fixed monitoring units, helping enhance the early detection of unauthorized radio interference and reduce response times to incidents and emergencies.

The commission carried out field inspections and oversight of licensed entities and those whose licenses had expired, seized non-compliant equipment and took the necessary legal measures. It also handled public health and safety complaints related to radio-frequency radiation, conducted 100 laboratory tests on radio equipment, addressed interference and disruption affecting international mobile telecommunications services, and inspected FM radio broadcasting services to ensure service continuity and quality.

In addition, the TRC followed up on efforts to rectify the status of specialized applications and websites in coordination with relevant authorities and in accordance with applicable legislation and regulations.

The report said the National Cyber Security Center held seven awareness workshops at a number of government institutions and launched three digital awareness campaigns in partnership with national entities. It also conducted the National Cyber Exercise with the participation of 40 national institutions and launched a cybersecurity camp to train government-sector information technology employees.

The report further noted that Jordan Post signed a memorandum of understanding with Caritas Jordan to enhance cooperation in financial, postal, logistical and humanitarian services and facilitate the delivery of aid and services to beneficiaries.

Jordan Post also participated in the Amman International Summer Festival, showcasing a range of postal, logistical and financial services, digital solutions, and its latest postage and commemorative stamp issues.

It also took part in the "Digital Shield" cybersecurity initiative, aimed at raising awareness of digital safety, protecting data and privacy, and promoting safe practices in dealing with cyber threats, electronic fraud and artificial intelligence tools.
