Dublin, Sept. 21 (Petra) -- Ireland’s Data Protection Commission (DPC), acting on behalf of the European Union, on Monday fined tech giant Google 403 million euros ($462 million) for breaching personal location data rules, Agence France-Presse reported.

The Irish watchdog, which enforces EU data protection laws across the bloc for major tech firms headquartered in Ireland, found that Google infringed the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) between May 2018 and February 2020.

In addition to the monetary penalty, the regulator ordered Google to align its data processing operations with EU regulations within six months.
