Amman, Sept. 19 (Petra) -- The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, in cooperation with the Vocational Training Corporation (VTC), the Jordan Future Company for Sustainable Development/ Future Skills Fund, and the Jordanian Hotel and Tourism Education Company, has launched 49 specialized tourism training programs targeting nearly 1,100 participants across two phases.

The initiative aims to build national capacity and upgrade human resources to meet tourism sector demands, upskilling job seekers, current employees, and local tourism experience providers across governorates.

Since launching 10 days ago, the first phase of training has enrolled 858 participants across 30 VTC institutes, Ammon Applied University College, and several community associations.

The training modules cover key operational areas, including handicrafts, food processing, hotel and hospitality services, food and beverage, digital marketing, project management for local associations, artificial intelligence tools, and occupational health and safety.

Program selection involved a screening and interview process managed by the ministry and VTC, alongside the Jordan Hotel Association and the Jordan Restaurant Association, ensuring candidates were matched with relevant career paths.

The ministry highlighted that the program forms part of its strategy to align training outcomes with labor market needs, enable local communities to leverage economic opportunities in tourism, and enhance the competitiveness of Jordan's hospitality sector through public-private partnerships.
